On Thursday, April 23rd (2015), around 1,900 art lovers gathered at the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) for its 11th annual Massive Party fundraiser, this year dubbed Hotbed. The event was co-chaired by George Barkas, Rob Drynan and Anais Granofsky and curated by artist TALWST.
Meanwhile the Toronto Waterkeeper Gala took place at the Canadian Broadcast Centre (home of the CBC). The fundraiser, in support of Lake Ontario Waterkeeper, was co-chaired by Mercury Films’ Jennifer Baichwal and RBC’s Philippe Savoy. The event’s featured presenter was Wade Davis, who was named by the National Geographic Society as one of the Explorers for the Millennium.
North of Bloor, Sotheby‘s and Spafax held a media preview and cocktail event for The Integral House, a modern design marvel from mathematician James Stewart. The 18,000-square-foot private residence was recently put on the market and is renowned for its acoustic-friendly curved lines. The event, held as a architectural debutante party of sorts, featured a live performance from the Canadian Opera Company.
Finally, Harry Rosen held its latest ‘Harry’s Underground Lounge‘ event, this time featuring music by The Walkervilles.
